Overview

From May 28th to May 30th, 2025, BYEP spent an unforgettable three days at the Hindleap Warren Outdoor Centre, giving young people the chance to step away from their usual urban environments and immerse themselves in nature, teamwork, and personal development.

A Huge Thank You

This transformative experience was made possible thanks to the generous support of:

  • London Youth
  • Jack Petchey Foundation
  • Gaston and Garfield
  • Postcode Lottery

We also extend heartfelt thanks to the families and young people who participated and contributed to the success of this trip.

What the Young People Gained

  • New Skills: Participants engaged in outdoor challenges and adventure activities that built confidence, leadership, and communication.
  • Teamwork: Young people worked closely together in group tasks, strengthening peer bonds and mutual respect.
  • Healthy Living: They enjoyed nutritious meals and embraced the benefits of an active, tech-free lifestyle.
  • Digital Detox: For three days, there were no phones or televisions. Instead, they experienced what many described as a “new life” — one filled with nature, connection, and reflection.

Reflections

The trip was not only fun but also deeply impactful. Many participants shared that being away from technology helped them become more present, open, and grounded. Whether it was hiking through the forest, sitting around the campfire, or encouraging each other during climbing sessions, the time at Hindleap Warren created lasting memories and meaningful growth.

Conclusion

BYEP is proud to offer young people opportunities that enrich their lives beyond their everyday experiences. Our Hindleap Warren trip showed just how powerful it is to disconnect from screens and reconnect with nature, each other, and themselves.

We look forward to creating more moments like this.
